Are you ready to step it up a notch? The brand-new Reboot world is getting added to MapleStory! This world brings MapleStory back to its roots as a hardcore RPG. In this world, monsters are stronger and give more EXP. As you fight, you’ll receive significantly more mesos, as well as equipment relevant to your character’s job. Useful items are designed to be available through gameplay, so some items will not be available in the Cash Shop, or will only be sold for mesos instead. Item enhancement is simplified, and trades are disabled. Rather than purchasing what you need from other players or the Cash Shop, you will earn it naturally through gameplay as you collect items and grow stronger!
The new Reboot world brings MapleStory back to its roots as a hardcore RPG, offering many changes that will prove to be a new challenge.

Monsters and Rewards
- Monsters in Reboot world are strong but give more EXP when defeated.
- Monsters will also drop significantly more mesos.
- Weapons and equipment dropped from monsters will only be relevant to your character's job.
- If you receive an item that cannot be used in Reboot world, a mystery bag will be given instead.
Items and Enhancement
- Item enhancing has been simplified. Scrolls and Bonus Potentials have been removed.
- Spell Traces will not stop dropping from monsters, but they will be unusable. Instead, you can sell them to the shops for mesos.
- The trade system has been removed. You'll have to grind for money and equips on your own.
- Non-equip items and mesos can only be moved from one character to another using the the storage system. However, untradeable items cannot be stored.
Cash Shop
- Many items have been removed from the Cash Shop and some items will instead be available for purchase with mesos. For example, Red Cube, Black Cube, Hyper Teleport Rock, Safety Charm, and much more.
- The Reboot World Cash Shop will still contain your favorite beauty parlor items and equipment covers (including 90-day versions).
- In addition you can get 90-day versions of some pets, and new items such as the Reboot Meso Sack which will award you with millions of mesos!
- The meso sack is limited to Lv. 150+ characters.
- Upon reaching Lv.150 in Reboot World, your character is awarded a large amount of free meso as a reward.
- The Reboot Meso Sack is intended for players who reach Lv. 150 and wish to ease their experience with even more meso.
- Items not sold in the Cash Shop include Bonus Potential Cubes, Shields and Scrolls, Gachapon Tickets, Premium Surprise Style Boxes, and Platinum Scissors of Karma.
- Slot expansions are no longer available in the Cash Shop, but will be available through in-game stores.
- Maple Reward Points will still be accrued and will function the same.
Character Details
- All characters can be created except Zero.
- 6 character slots will be available to start with.
- Basic inventory slots will start off at 48 slots.
- Slot expansions for character, inventory, storage and pendant can be purchased with mesos through in-game shops.
- After creating a character, you get a snail pet and Reboot potions to help you get started.
- Reaching major level milestones (Lv.30, Lv.60, Lv.90, Lv.120, and Lv.150) on your account will grant you gift boxes containing useful items and lots and lots of mesos! You may obtain the box with multiple characters, but only one character on your account can open the gift box at each milestone.
Other Details
- Monster Life will not be available in Reboot world.
- Some events will not be run in Reboot world.
- Some event rewards in Reboot world may be different than the rewards in the regular worlds.
- Characters cannot be moved into or out of Reboot world using the World Leap system.
JOB REVAMPS
All of the jobs are getting skill rebalances to maximize their efficiency in relation to each other, thereby normalizing the playing field. This includes changes for skill cooldowns, buff durations and Final Attack skills. Every class will experience changes of some kind—whether it’s additional functionality for some skills, or the addition/removal of other skills. Damage limits, range, and hits per second have been updated for a number of skills.

BATTLE ANALYSIS SYSTEM
Do you want to check up on your damage output and meso acquisition? The new Battle Analysis System allows you to measure the damage done and mesos /experience gained within a certain timeframe. You can even separate by total damage, average damage or damage per skill, allowing you to study the most effective skills and combinations! Another new system, the Hyper Stat system, allows you to receive Hyper Stat Points starting at Lv. 140. You can receive 1 more Hyper Stat point per level every 10 levels. These points can be used to increase Hyper Stats, giving you an additional edge in combat! Like Ability or Skill Points, you’ll receive more Hyper Stat Points as you level up.

The new Battle Analysis system has been added. This new system will record all of your battle statistics for up to 60 minutes at a time. Use it to formulate new strategies and find out how to really maximize your damage output and battle effectiveness.
- The Battle Analysis system allows you to measure the damage you do and the mesos/EXP you obtain in a time frame.
- You can access it through the Menu -> Battle Analysis button.
- You can minimize/maximize the size of the UI window with the +/- button.
- While minimized, you will be able to see the current analysis session time, your total damage for the session, and your total acquired EXP for the session.
- While maximized, you'll get a more detailed summary of the current session. You'll be able to see the following information:
- Battle Time
- Acquired Mesos
- Total Damage / Average Damage (per second)
- Total Acquired EXP / Average Acquired EXP (per second)
- Skills used during the session
- Total / Average Damage dealt per skill
- Number of times each skill was used
- Total number of attacks for each skill
- Minimum and Maximum damage (per hit) for each skill
- The Battle Analysis system can record sessions up to 60 minutes at a time. If it is left on for more than 60 minutes, the system will stop recording.
- The current Battle Analysis results will be erased when a new session is started.
HYPER STAT SYSTEM
A new Hyper Stat system has been added.
- Starting from Lv. 140, you will receive Hyper Stat Points which can be used to increase your Hyper Stats. You can access your Hyper Stats by clicking on the "Hyper Stat" button in your Character Stat window.
- Hyper Stats that you can raise are:
- STR: 15 - 150 (max level 10)
- DEX: 15 - 150 (max level 10)
- INT: 15 - 150 (max level 10)
- LUK: 15 - 150 (max level 10)

- Every 10 levels after Lv. 140, the number of Hyper Stat Points you get upon level up will be increased.
- Starting at Lv. 140, you will get 3 Hyper Stat Points per level up. For every 10 levels after that, you will receive 1 more Hyper Stat Point per level up. (Ex: Lv.140 - 149 you’ll get 3, Lv.150 - 159 you’ll get 4, Lv.160 - 169 you’ll get 5, etc.)
- As you level up a Hyper Stat, it starts to require more and more Hyper Stat Points to increase to the next level. So be sure to spend those points wisely.
- If you're unhappy with your current Hyper Stat Point allocation, you can reset your Hyper Stats for 10 million mesos.
TRANSFER HAMMER
Ah, you have a weapon with a nice amount of enhancements and stats. Ooh, but you just received a new higher-level weapon! Seems like a waste to lose all the work from the old weapon though… Now you can use the new Transfer Hammer system to transfer an item’s Star Force enhancements (minus one), Potential (up to Epic-rank), and Soul information to another item up to ten levels higher than the current one. The old item will disappear once the transfer is complete. Not all items can use the system and certain info (such as Spell Trace upgrades) won’t be carried over.
Requirement: Lv. 40 or above
- With the Transfer Hammer system, players will be able to transfer stats such as Star Force enhancements, Souls, and Potentials from one piece of equipment to another.
- To initiate the transfer, click the icon in the bottom-right corner of the item inventory window - next to the Star Force Enhancement icon.
- You can transfer stats to another piece of equipment up to 10 levels higher than the original equipment.
- Please be aware that the original piece of equipment will be lost after transferring.
- Star Force enhancements will be reduced by 1 when transferring to another piece of equipment.
- If the Potentials on the original item are Epic-rank or lower, the stats of the Potential will be transferred over completely.
- If the Potentials on the original item are Unique-rank or higher, the stats of the Potential will be changed to their Epic-rank equivalents. However, if the stats of the Potential are only available at Unique-rank or higher, they will be changed to random Epic-rank stats.
- The tradability of the original equipment will not be transferred.
- If the equipment that you are transferring stats to still has upgrade slots remaining, Spell Trace scrolls will be used automatically to use the remaining upgrade slots.
- Please be aware that the Transfer Hammer system cannot be used on the following equipment:
- Superior equipment
- Equipment scrolled with Miraculous Equipment Enhancement Scrolls
- Equipment with unique potential options (not the rank but like the Onyx Ring, etc.)
- Equipment with an expiration date
- Equipment that are locked with an Item Guard

NEW PLAYABLE CHARACTER: KINESIS
Meet Kinesis, MapleStory’s newest character, who uses the power of telekinesis to attack and control monsters and nearby objects! Kinesis starts in FriendStory and is known as a local hero. When certain events spin out of control, Kinesis is transported to Maple World. Kinesis stores up Psychic Points (PP) by using skills, and can then use PP to power various Ultimate skills. The main weapon is the PSY-Limiter, which looks like a bracelet. The Chess Piece is the secondary weapon, and Kinesis can use Magician armor.
Kinesis was a normal student attending the School for the Gifted in the real world. One day he mysteriously gained telekinetic powers. With a strong sense of justice, Kinesis quickly put his newfound power to good use by helping people in need. Around the same time that Kinesis gained his powers, strange occurrences started happening around his town, always preempted by a mysterious message from someone online calling themselves 'WM'. While following one of the leads from the mysterious WM, Kinesis was pulled into a catastrophic sinkhole that also destroyed a large part of the city. Kinesis was saved by the magician Nero and brought to Maple World.

UPGRADED MU LUNG DOJO
The current Mu Lung Dojo is getting overhauled to become ranked content for players Lv. 105 and above. Defeat the monsters on all 41 floors of the dojo to receive Mu Lung Dojo points to spend at the special shop. NPC Lao has stocked up on chairs, damage skins, equips, and more! You can also pick up a special charm that allows you to visit the Mind and Body Training Center where you can automatically gain EXP over time. In addition, there is now a single ranking mode, split into three different tiers; Novice, Skilled, and Master. Based on your ranking, you can earn gloves and titles!

- The new rankings are divided into 3 tiers: Entry Level, Mastery, and Expertise. The highest tier, Expertise, is also separated into 'Overall Ranking' and 'Job Ranking'.

- Your ranking on the leader board is dependent on the highest floor that was cleared, and the total amount of time spent. The higher the floor, the higher the ranking. And the lower your time spent, the higher your ranking will be. If you have cleared the same floor as someone else, the player with the lower amount of time spent will have a higher ranking. If you have the same overall time as someone else, the player who received that time first will have the higher ranking.
- The Mu Lung Dojo will be closed every Sunday from 11:30 PM to Monday at 12:30 AM Pacific in order to compile the results for the week. During this time, you won't be able to receive any rewards or check the rankings.

Mu Lung Dojo Unity Training Center
- The new Mu Lung Dojo Unity Training Center allows you gain EXP over time based on your character's level.
- Enter the Unity Training Center by talking to So Gong in the main hall
- You must use a Unity Training Center Charm to enter the training center. Unity Training Center Charms can be purchased from the point shop.
- Each Unity Training Center Charm has a specified amount of time, which will allow you to enter the training center for that amount of time. Once the time is expired, you will automatically exit the training center.
- If you choose to exit the Unity Training Center before the time expires, you will lose any remaining time.
Scarecrow Summoning Sacks
- Using a Scarecrow Summoning Sack will summon a Scarecrow in place that can be attacked.
- Scarecrows can only be summoned in town and can only be summoned one at a time.
- The level of the scarecrow can be set by the one who summons it.
- The scarecrow has a high amount of HP and will not be defeated easily. However, it will disappear 15 minutes after it is summoned.

Introducing the new 2D skeleton animation which will be implementing to the following update. The new playable character, Kinesis, the feroucious new boss, Ursus and the newly updated Korean Folk Town theme dungeon will utilize the new skeleton animation. Get ready for the ultimate destruction! Players Lv. 100 and above will be able to band together as a group of 18 to take on a ferocious new boss, Ursus. This ursine king is raring mad and ready for a fight! Get matched up with a group, and choose 8 pre-selected skills to use during the fight. When the dust clears, your battle results will appear—grading you on survival time, total damage and more. Collect various items from Ursus, then trade them in for rewards such as chairs and damage skins!

- A giant bear has been terrorizing Maplers, and Masarayu will pay big bucks to anyone that can help hunt him!
- Enter the Ursus Entry Map through the Ursus icon in the Dimensional Mirror and speak to Masarayu.
- Each account has a restriction of 3 entries per day.
- Team up with 17 other players and hunt the rampaging Ursus or try to take him on by yourself!
- Each player will be allowed to use 20 potions and a group total of 80 revives, so use them wisely.
- Each time a consumable item is used, it will reduce the amount of potions available. This includes HP potions, MP potions, stat-related Items, and trait items.
- Each player that participates will get points based off of damage done, healing done, and time spent alive.

REOPENED: KOREAN FOLK TOWN
Welcome the newly updated Korean Folk Town theme dungeon. The town will now experience night and day, and the backgrounds have been updated. Players Lv. 125 and above can enter the theme dungeon to collect jade items to help prevent the town’s destruction. Several classic Korean stories will be told, including “The Good Brothers”, “The Sun and the Moon”, and “Gold Axe, Silver Axe”. As you progress through the stories, the appearance of the town will change.
Requirement: Lv. 125 or above.
Reward:
- Korean Folk Town has just been reopened and the folk tales are in trouble!
- Accept the quest 'A Letter from the Library' from the quest notifier on the left side of the screen.
- The Librarian has sent a letter to ask for your help in saving Korean Folk Town.
- It's now your job to save the folk stories with the help of Moni and your handy dandy kaleidoscope!
- Save each of the folk stories from crumbling and collect the 7 Jades of the Town.
- Once you've collected them all, you will be rewarded with a medal.

- Spiegelmann is back with a spooky new Monster Park! Enter the Ghost Park through the Dimensional Mirror or through the portal on the right side of Korean Folk Town, and speak to Spiegelmann.
- Players above Lv. 145 will be allowed to participate but the ghostly monsters will not level past that.
- Spiegelmann's Ghost Park has an entry limit of 5 times per day.
- Enter the portal next to Spiegelmann to begin your horrors in the Ghost Park.
- You have 10 minutes in the park to hunt as many monsters as you can. If you die, you won't lose your EXP earned.
Charms
- Charms can be selected before entering to increase the difficulty. There are 7 different charms, each with their own effect, with 3 levels each.
- Charm of Rage: At certain intervals, a fire tornado will attack a random area.
- Charm of Regret: After monsters regenerate, their damage will be increased for a certain period of time.
- Charm of Greed: After monsters regenerate, their size and health will increase over time.
- Charm of Sloth: Characters who stand still for a certain period of time will take damage.
- Charm of Envy: A banshee will follow you and damage you every few seconds.
- Charm of Gluttony: The effects of recovery runes are decreased.
- Charm of Jealousy: Bullets will be randomly fired in all directions.
- Use all 21 Charms to have an EXP increase of 750%!
Bonuses
- While hunting in the Ghost Park, you will not only receive bonus EXP from Charms, but you will also receive bonus EXP depending on how you're doing.
- Hunting Bonus: As you hunt more monsters, you will gain bonus experience, and increase the monster levels.
- HP Risk Bonus: The lower your character’s HP, the more bonus experience you can gain.
- You will receive bonus "HP Risk EXP" depending on how low your HP is.
- You will not be able to use potions while in Ghost Park; instead there will be the occasional Rune that appears to give you HP.
